This Site Is Faster Than 82% of All Sites

I don’t normally check my webmaster tools section that often as we have so many sites but I decided to take a quick look at our link building site and see if there was any errors. I was quite surprised to see that in googles performance section it says that this site loads up in 1.4 seconds and is faster than 82% of sites indexed by google.

I knew the sites performance was good as I spent several days optimizing the site and the server and over time the load speed started to drop slowly. It looks like it has now stabilized at 1.4 seconds which is pretty good considering the widgets and plugins that this site uses. Without the floating widget on the left hand side, the social bookmarking section under each post and the paypal button displayed on every page this site would load up much faster. Also if I took out the google analytics code from the footer the site would load even faster but the analytics part wont make that much of a difference probably 0.2 seconds.

At some point next week I will strip this site back to its bare minimum i.e taking out the un-needed widgets which are there only for the users benefit (well if I’m honest its for our benefit as well). For example if you have a business twitter account then you need to make it as easy as possible for potential subscribers to find it, that’s why we have the floating button on the left hand side. If you own a business then its a good idea to create a twitter account as well as a facebook account as every bit of traffic helps.

Remeber if you need any relevant links built for traffic and seo purposes then feel free to browse our site as thats what we specialise in.

Build A Handful of Relevant Links in 5 Minutes

There’s many different ways to build relevant links and many people think it takes a fair bit of time and effort and sometimes dont even know where to begin. Well I’ll share with you a very easy and straight forward way of building relevant links and earn some decent weight in the process.

We all know about blogging and know that the majority of bloggers allow there readers to leave a comment and link back to there site. There was a point where comment links where deemed useless as they were easy to produce and were classed as a bit spammy, not to mention that most blogs are setup with a nofollow comments section meaning you wont earn any real weight from the link anyway. Over the years blogs have become very popular, pretty much every site you visit has a blog attached to it and the search engines started to notice that. There’s still no pint in producing comment links if the blog uses the no follow attribute because even if google does take blogs more seriously it has been told by the blog to disregard any links in the comment section. This was a big turn off and put people off of leaving comments which made blogs look unused and dead.

Over time blog owners have started to use the dofollow attribute in there comments section sparking off the need for websites owners to start using them again for there inbound link structure. Comment links help for two reasons, one for seo purposes and the second for traffic purposes.

What I do if I want to build a handful of relevant comment posts in a few minutes is search up my terms in google, then use googles advanced options to only show me pages from blogs and then I would look for the most appropriate page. I take into account pagerank and the amount of comments already on that page, what you want to do is find high pageranked blogs with hardly any outbound links i.e comments links, these are the best places to leave comments.

Feel free to leave a comment on any of our posts as we use the dofollow attribute and like to share our juice.

Should You Only Focus On Relevant Links

There’s a few SEOs out there over selling the relevant link myth, relevant links are both useful and helpful but aren’t just the only type of link to focus on. There’s a few SEOs out there that think by only producing relevant links they will some how gain extra benefits over another site who’s inbound link structure consists of a variety of relevant and irrelevant links.

Its true that relevant links are favoured more by google than irrelevant links but in order for your site to progress in the search engines everything has to look natural and search engine friendly. The irrelevant links aren’t useless and do hold some hidden benefits, but for high search engine rankings irrelevant links can help just as much as relevant links. There’s also several levels of relevancy when building relevant links, the obvious one is getting your dog food related site listed on another dog food related site as its a clear connection between the two. The second type of relevant link is getting your dog food sites listed on a dog toys site but on a page that mentions dog food, this is also classed as a relevant link as the site is about dogs and the page that displays the link is about dog food.

Then there’s the third type of link which comes from producing articles optimized for your terms and published on reputable press release sites and article sites. This type of link isn’t as relevant as the last two types but still holds slightly more than average weight.

The links that these SEOs are telling people to stay away from our the links that come from website directories, forums, advertising sites, social bookmarking sites and others. Its true that these links don’t pass on much weight but do help in several areas, the main one being to help increase search engine positions. These links also help your site appear more natural as website owners use these methods to drum up traffic and are popular resources, so your website would look out of place and your inbound link structure would look un-natural.

You have to keep in mind google forbids users to manually build links as links were originally classed as votes and the more votes a site got the higher it would rank.

39 Link Building Tips and Methods

39 SEO Link Building Tips and Methods

There’s many great ways of building good quality inbound links, some of the easiest ways of building quality links is by simply writing good content that makes users want to mention it or rate it on the social bookmarking sites. Its a well known fact that links play the biggest part and help get your site to the top of page one in all the major search engines. I have added a list of the methods we use and if you find the content interesting then please link back to it or give us a thumbs up on one of the social bookmarking sites.

Link building will be around for a long time so you may as well use some of these tips to help build even more links to your site.

1. Write how to guides for topics in your niche, this is by far the most popular and easiest way to get people to naturally link back to you.

2. Publish a couple of good resource articles as again this is another popular item for people to naturally link to.

3. Use social bookmarking sites to spread your content, this method has been around for years but still holds a nice amount of weight.

4. Leave good quality relevant comments on authority blogs in your niche, this will help to build a name for yourself and get people clicking your link and viewing your site (possibly linking back to it).

5. Build huge lists of over 50 tips as these tend to get rated highly in the social bookmarking sites and is another great item for your users to naturally link back to or mention.

6. Write about myths or topics in your niche that haven’t been proven yet.

7. Create a list of authority websites or authors in your niche, this will show that you know what your talking about and may even get some of the authors or sites linking back to you. Its also another valuable list for your users to link back to.

8. Make sure your content is clear and easy to understand making it easier for your reader to spread the message.

9. Put some effort in to minimizing grammatical or spelling errors, especially if you need authoritative people to link to your site.

10. Include a picture of yourself and your team to seem more trustworthy, also include a privacy policy to help build trust.

11. Buy PPC traffic as you never know the users coming to your site might link back to your content.

12. Submit an article to the leading industry sites in your niche, for example if you are in the seo field like me you might want to submit your content to webpronews etc.

13. Trade articles with other blogs or websites in your niche, when contacting the webmaster be polite and friendly, make them see the benefits for both of you.

14. Email a few friends when you have important relevant news asking them for their feedback and/or if they would mind referencing it if they find your information useful.

15. This is an oldie but use directories, make sure you check them out and they are still considered to be “quality” like DMOZ.

16. Try find niche directories for your business as well as using standard directories, irrelevant links still pass weight on to your site.

17. Create your own directory for your niche and include your site and other authority sites in your niche.

18. Get involved on the social bookmarking sites by rating other peoples content and adding them as friends, this helps entice people into rating your content and following your link.

19. Forums are a great way to promote links and yourself, find topic related forums and get involved in the community by answering questions and adding your input to the conversations.

20. Look at trending websites like google trends and meme to see what people are talking about and then write original content on the matter, staying up to date with what you write about is a good way to make yourself an authority on that topic, also add links within your content to other sources.

21. Don’t be tight or afraid to give out link juice for free, sometimes it works in your favour.

22. Syndicate your rss feeds as this is also another great way to get people linking to your inner pages, unfortunately some display snippets of your content or your full content without link back but this is just part of the online world, the majority of people are honest and will include a link back to the original content.

23. Join the google business center and get your business listed there, this helps people find you and your content  easier.

24. If you sell products the get them included into google base as this helps boost exposure and sales, and I’m not just saying that.

25. Look for local websites or businesses in your area where you can swap links, most cities have there own online directories.

26. Put out a free ad in the local paper, this helps build exposure and links.

27. Press releases are also a great way to get exposure and links from, submit your newsworthy press releases to the big press releases sites like prlog or myfreepressrelease.

28. Use social networking sites like facebook and myspace, create a seperate account and page for your business, then search for users with interests in your business and promote your content to them.

29. Use sites like yahoo answers to answer questions on your topic and use your website as a source for information.

30. Wikipedia is a good place to get your site listed, but make sure you have a fairly clean reputation first.

31. This is another oldie but create a squidoo page, post interesting content and freebies whilst linking back to your site, this is another great place to make a name for yourself.

32. Another great way to get inbound links is to write reviews on similar products or tools in your niche, this gets people linking back to your site as a resource especially if you write a positive one.

33. If you have bought any products or tools then why not offer to leave a testimonial in return for a link.

34. Create a blog over at wordpress and blogger and use them to promote yourself and share information which will get people interested and click through your links.

35. You could also out source your link building services and hire a professional at a reasonable price.

36. Hold a contest.

37. Sue a major site like google, that’ll get you hundreds of thousands of links.

38. Give away website templates or tools with a link back to your site.

39. Offer free samples in exchange for links.

These are a few methods which will help you build links honestly, stay away from software as they often leave a fingerprint and usually build poor quality links.

How Do You Build Relevant Links

There’s many different ways you can build relevant links, I’ll list the ones that I use day after day and prove to be very effective. All the methods we use are natural and are manual link building methods without the aid of any link building software or blackhat techniques.

The first method is very powerful as you can pretty much build any link you like from a high pageranked site. What you want to do is search google and find the best site that fits your requirements and contact the owner asking if they would like to post some new content on there site. What you do is write a well written article and submit it to the website owner if they like it they will add it to there site with a link back to yours. Make sure that the content you submit to the webmasters are unique and informative otherwise they will disregard it and probably not respond to you.

The other method is to leave comment posts on blogs that have a dofollow attribute (like this one) , this means you can promote your keyterm in the comment section and earn weight from that website. Most blogs have the nofollow attribute set up as a standard so it can be hard to find a dofollow site.

You could also write well optimized press releases and get them published on popular news sites, this will help because if a user finds that press release interesting then they will link directly to that press release earning it more weight which gets passed on to the link back to your site. The other result from this is the user might read the whole press release then click through to your site and build a link directly to your site, other way your earning weight which will help in the long run. You have to keep in mind search engine optimization cant be rushed, in normally takes 6-12 months to rank highly for you main popular terms.

Another way to build good relevant links is to simply ask website owners for a link back to your site, you could do a deal i.e if you link to me I will link to you from another site, or you could offer a small fee i.e $10-$20 for a lifetime link.

These are methods I use all the time and I build hundreds of links a week for clients and my own sites, it does take time but once you have done it a few times you’ll be able to speed up the process. If you want myself and my team of trained professionals to build you relevant links then feel free to browse our site and see what we have to offer.

What Are Relevant Links?

What Are Relevant Links?

If you own a website then you will know that inbound links are important not just for search engine optimization but for increasing your targeted traffic. You can build links from irrelevant sites and still earn weight from those links but if you build relevant links then google will pick up on that and favour those links slightly more by giving you more weight towards that term.

If you own a website a bout red flowers then the chances are you probably have the domain “red flowers” and have several pages on your site talking heavily about red flowers, google will see this and know that your website is to do with red flowers so when you build your inbound links it works out what the site is about that is linking to you and then decides if it is relevant enough for the high end link weight.

Relevant links also look more natural then any other link as sites similar to yours are more likely to link to you rather than a website completely off-topic like car parts. Why would a car parts website be linking to a red flowers website? Google knows you cant control the sites linking to you but knows that you can control who you link to.

If you need some strong pagerank 2+ relevant links built then I suggest you take a look at our services.

We were asked by a client through our ask an expert section how we would go about optimizing a wordpress blog for better search engine positioning. As wordpress has a huge following of developers and coders it has become very simple and straightforward to get your site optimized for the search engines. I will list the top plugins that we use and tell you abit about them, any plugin mentioned here can be downloaded and installed through the wordpress admin panel.

W3 Total Cache – This plugin make a big difference, it makes a cache of all your pages and images making them appear to download faster. This plugin will make a noticeable difference on your site performance and load times making it a must have plugin.

Quick Redirects – If your like me then sometimes you make a mistake with a page url and have to correct it, with this plugin you can do a permanent 301 redirect from the old url to the new one making life a lot easier. I use this plugin a lot and I would also class it as a must have plugin.

SEO Smart Links – With this plugin you give it a list of keyterms and urls you want those keyterms to point to and the plugin does the rest, it automatically adds links within your content as and when it finds a term on the list. This is a fantastic way to improve your internal link structure so download it!

All In One SEO – I don’t have to go into too much detail with this one as it has been around for a long time and has been talked about everywhere. Its a great plugin for making important seo tweaks and is worth installing.

Google Xml Sitemap – Sitemaps are very important when it comes to optimizing your site for the search engines, this plugin creates a sitemap for you with one click of the button making creating sitemaps a breeze. I would also class this plugin as a must have as well.

Broken Link Checker – Its good to link out to other blogs or websites not owned by you but it can be a pain monitoring the links, with this plugin it gives you details on the sites your linking to and allows you to quickly remove or edit any links within your posts. This isn’t a must have plugin but it does hold some benefit to having and using.

If you found this list helpful then please feel free to leave a comment or subscribe to our rss feed, all our comment sections now use the dofollow attribute passing weight from our site to yours.
